PUPILLARY DISTANCE EXPLAINED

Your Pupillary distance or PD is the distance between your left pupil and your right pupil as measured in millimetres or mm.

This measurement is easy to get. Simply ask your optometrist for this additional measurement

or

Ask a friend or family member to measure from the centre of one pupil to the centre of the other, using a standard ruler whilst you are looking directly ahead.

The typical pupillary distance is roughly 63mm, although this can vary from the average measurement of between 54mm to 67mm or more.
